Privacy, in plain view

The short version

The Homearr version covered by this policy does not include first-party analytics, advertising pixels, accounts, cookies, local storage, or saved search history. Autocomplete and submitted searches require your browser to contact separate services. Those services may process information under their own privacy policies.

Information involved when you visit

Ordinary web information

As with any website, the systems used to deliver Homearr may receive standard request information such as an IP address, browser type, device type, requested page, referring page, and request time. The static page itself does not add a first-party analytics script to profile this activity.

Campaign values in the URL

Homearr reads three optional values from its page URL: subid, channel, and u. If subid or channel is absent, the page uses the defaults 11118 and default. These values remain in your browser until you submit a search.

While you type

After you enter two characters and pause briefly, your browser sends the typed text to the English Wikipedia OpenSearch endpoint at en.wikipedia.org. The request asks for up to six suggestions. Homearr does not append subid, channel, or u to that autocomplete request.

Wikipedia and the Wikimedia Foundation may receive technical request data and handle it according to their own policies. Homearr does not control their logs, retention, or use of information.

When you search

Submitting the form opens a Seeklumo search URL in a new tab. Your browser sends Seeklumo:

• the search words you submitted;
• the subid, channel, and u values described above;
• a fixed hp=1 parameter; and
• technical information ordinarily sent with a web request.

Seeklumo’s handling of that information is governed by its own notices and practices. Do not enter sensitive personal information in the search box unless you are comfortable sending it to the applicable third party.

Messages you choose to send

If you email hello@homearr.com, we receive the address you use, the contents of your message, and any attachments or details you provide. We use that material to read, route, and respond to your request; protect the service; and meet applicable legal obligations. Please send only what is necessary.

Cookies and browser storage

Homearr does not set its own cookies and does not use localStorage or sessionStorage. Third-party suggestion and search services may use cookies or other technologies when your browser contacts or opens them. Their policies govern those technologies.

Retention

Because the Homearr interface does not maintain accounts, saved history, or a first-party analytics database, it does not retain search terms in those features. Email correspondence may be kept for as long as reasonably needed to address the request, maintain records, prevent abuse, or satisfy legal duties. Delivery infrastructure and third parties may follow separate retention schedules.

Sharing and disclosure

Information moves to Wikipedia for suggestions and to Seeklumo when you submit a search, as described above. Email may be handled by communications providers. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or support a business reorganization, subject to applicable safeguards.

Your choices and rights

You can avoid autocomplete requests by entering fewer than two characters, stop typing before a request, or choose not to use the search field. You can remove campaign parameters from the Homearr URL before searching. Browser settings may help you manage third-party cookies.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability concerning personal information handled by the service operator. You may also be able to complain to a local data-protection authority. To make a request, email hello@homearr.com. We may need enough information to verify and process it.

Children

Homearr is not directed to children under 13, and the interface is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent personal information directly to us, please contact us so the concern can be reviewed.

Security and international processing

Reasonable safeguards may be used for information under the service operator’s control, but no internet transmission or storage method is completely secure. Wikipedia, Seeklumo, hosting systems, and email providers may process information in countries other than yours, where legal protections may differ.
